I use Bandicam for onboard films. It's a little taxing on the PC and creates stutters etc, but it's not too much of a problem after a time getting use to it.
Normally I have a rundown of what I use in the credits, but so far I'm yet to complete an acceptable style for my WB films. (It took 3 films to get an opening.)
Many of us use a program called "Action". Think it's like $39 US Dollars. Captures in .avi or mp4 format. When we capture in 1080p everthing usually comes out nice and crisp on the video. Action doesn't seem to be much of a load on the pc. I can't tell any performance difference when Action is running. I use the free Windows Movie Maker to do the basic editing, but would like something a little more advanced that would allow a movie to be paused for training comments, then continued.
